Culture Hospitality Group is a boutique hospitality specialist with operations in New Zealand and Japan. The group focuses on hotel and food & beverage franchising, management, consultancy, and investment. With a firm belief that exceptional accommodation and dining experiences go hand in hand, Culture Hospitality Group is committed to redefining the future of boutique hospitality. Its first hotel brand is set to launch in late 2026 in Hokkaido, Japan, through its wholly owned Japanese subsidiary.

Sam Stapley is a graduate of the University of Canterbury and studied at Waseda University in Tokyo. Fluent in Japanese, Sam has spent the past decade successfully owning and managing hospitality ventures across New Zealand and Japan.

Notable achievements include founding The Mayfair Hotel, named New Zealand’s Best Luxury Hotel in 2025, and Majestic at Mayfair, awarded New Zealand Café of the Year in 2024. Both were successfully sold in January 2025.

Prior to this, Sam also founded, led and successfully exited a 1,000-room hotel management operation in Japan, servicing a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals and public companies.

He is currently the CEO of Culture Hospitality Group and its Japanese subsidiary.
